Does support dial pulse.  Yes, I think you're looking at atleast one FXO and perhaps 
a FXS (for those who want to provide DISA like function) per switch.

With ATA's you are also limited the one or two talking pathes and what you have 
resembles a PBX deployment with trunks; and for some folks that's not a bad fit.  To 
emulate a real switch you need a non-blocking IP platform (like Asterisk) on site with 
analog trunks to connect to the various EM switches, equipment, etc.
