I wonder if this was malicious, accidental, or exploration? Did you ever
trace the culprits?
I'm sorry that you've had grief in the past. I remember the posts about
this.
I would think that the registered CNET membership wouldn't set out to
annoy or break anyone's exchanges. There seem to be a certain number of
latter day Phone Hackers/Phreaks in the ranks, so they might be inclined
to experiment a bit. In fact, I have some ideas in the pipeline to
provide a "tandem stacking" facility through my switch. And yes, John C.
I'll get around to putting the listen through patch back on, when I get
the time.
But we have quite a few gateways/portals and people hanging software
clients off others Asterisk boxes. I think the potential for aggravation
is a lot higher from that layer of access.
I would wager that any deliberate abuse would not be from members of
this list, more somebody that came across the VoIP access numbers via
the web. I don't believe a user settable CLI is going to catch anyone out.
I'm always happy to be proved wrong of course.
Next month is the second anniversary of your inaugural transatlantic
CNET call to my switch Doug, doesn't time fly!
I don't expect I'll get near ol' Micky, last time, he seemed to have a
lot of body guards, who like to keep him a moving target :)
