[VoIP] Strowger 2000-type Final Selector

At the back of the switch you will find a connector (a set of what look like
teeth for want of a better description!) This is called the 'u' points.

There is a white line between the middle ones. If you count from that line
outwards to the right (this is the even connectors (I Think!!!)) they go 2,
4, 6, 8,10 etc. contact 12 is Battery (ie -50 v dc) Note that each 'pin' is
two contacts, there is a small insulating piece between them, so contact 12
is the outer contact on the third pin.

Counting the other way from the line you go 1, 3, 5, 7, etc and contact 11
is earth (ie 0 v dc).

Incoming line is on 1 and 2, p wire is on 9. So looping 1 and 2 out to a
loop dialling jellybone will allow you to dial into it.

Hopefully this will help?

Andy G

With many many thanks to Jon for pointing me in the right direction, I
have obtained the maintenance documentation for a switch *very* similar
to mine. There are only a few differences, making me think it's a
slightly different model, but there was more than enough information to
get the switch fixed and adjusted into a workable condition. It now
steps horizontally and vertically with no trouble at all, and returns
to the home position flawlessly.

The only thing now is to make sure the electrical side of things work
properly. As I don't have a 48.6V supply at the moment, I can't do any
testing as yet... Not that I could without knowing where the power needs to
go. Tracing the wires is out of the question, as any color the wires may
have had has since faded into obscurity. Still looking for a schematic of
the switch, or at least a pinout so I know what connections on the back and
front are used for what.

There are 2 wire jumpers on the front test panel, a red and green one. I
don't know what these are for - perhaps used to take the switch out of
service?

It's a beauty!

that pushes the selector rod around to swing the contacts. This little arm
is stuck in a raised position as the hinge is a little stiff and won't let
it drop back down to push the next ratchet tooth. Has anyone repaired one of
these beautiful devices before? Can you give me some tips or pointers as to
how I might go about repairing this little part?

this selector. From Mr. Buckley I've learned many things about this switch,
but sadly, my knowledge is still a little incomplete.
