No, it's like this:

i.e. each 'blade' has two sides and consists of two contacts with an
insulating piece in between. (Hopefully the diagram won't get mushed in
transmission.)
You might also find this useful: many selectors were wired with only
three colours of wire: white for battery (-50v,) red for earth and green
for everything else. If this is the case for your selector, if you can
find the red and white wires to the shelf jack, this will tell you where
to put the power. Indeed, if you can find the red and white wires
somewhere on the relay plate, you can apply the appropriate voltage with
clip leads. Manually operting the A relay should then bring the thing
to life.
