Blaz,

Hello and welcome. You will find this is a great active group of diverse folks. Lots of knowledge and lots of questions. I too like the way you termed it a living museum as certainly in part that is what it is.

You will enjoy being a part of this group.

Welcome,

Dennis Hock 269 Cascow Telephone

Subject: [VoIP] Hello from Slovenia!

I see that things don't go unnoticed here on CNET, so I'll try to
properly introduce myself here.

I'm a telephony enthusiast from Slovenia in my early 30's. My day job
among other things consists of configuring and maintaining the
softswitch at a local alternative telco. I stumbled upon CNET by pure
accident, while doing some research in my spare time. I have only had
two days to look around and have to say I find it fascinating. Here's a
bunch of guys trying to setup a network of old switches - a live museum
that you don't even need to physically visit. But what is most amazing
is that it seems like CNET is a very live community.

For the past two days I have been dialing around CNET and looking for
interesting things. I hope I didn't dial anything I was not supposed to,
I tried to make sure to only dial those numbers that are 24/7 or
otherwise dial them during "business hours". I will try to call up some
of you guys so we can chat. I don't yet have a CNET office code, so for
now you can call me via SIP at sip:home at inlimbo.org or
sip:mobile at inlimbo.org (if you have to). I'll make sure to read the
instructions on how to get an office code and then add my Asterisk box
to CNET. Thanks John for encouraging me to do it. The calls that some
of you saw in your logs were done through my Asterisk box, which is
already configured to be able to dial CNET numbers, but I obviously
can't set a working CLID because I don't yet have an office code -
should be fixed soon.

I'll try to post some historic info on the telephony network here in
Slovenia later.

Oh by the way, please don't call Dr. Blaz Zupan at the number that was
posted here today - that's not me. Yes, there is at least two Blaz
Zupan's I know of and no, I have never met him in person, but I often
get confused with him, probably because he is the first person to come
up when googling for my name.

Looking forward to discussing *anything* related to telephony.

Regards,
Blaz
