To be honest, I was hesitant about XP for a long while. I pulled my hair
out (quite literally) having to support it for other people. But, like
any Microsoft product, they addressed the usability issues with Service
Pack 2. I've been using it for about a year now and am pleased.

Now, to be a little more controversial: If you are running a version of
Windows (or any OS for that matter) on the Internet that is not getting
regularly patched, you're doing both yourself and the Internet at large
a disservice.[1]

[1] I'm not saying anyone here is engaging in "high risk" behavior or is
going to get themselves compromised, I've just been dealing with a bunch
of issues with people on broadband connections getting themselves
compromised and hosting some phishing site sending people's credit cards
details to Romania lately. :)
