True. However, in talking with John Jones last night, he has a phone that
doesn't want to play nice with his VT1005. He sent the dial to
Steve. Dial came back, worked great for a month, and now won't play nice
with the VT1005 again.
We're phone collectors. Or at least a bunch of us on this list are. We
have phones of varying vintages and condition, i.e. not all the dials on
all the phones are going to be perfect 10 pps 60/40. Steph mentioned
earlier today about the older dials whose characteristic when in "proper"
adjustment is to run down a bit at the end of their travel. Depending on
how snotty an interface is, these older dials may not cut it. It would be
nice if an ATA will work with a majority of our collections, much like an
analog switch would, barring of course the phones whose dials are "really
out" and need a trip to Steve.
