Start by testing DP recognition with bounce-free pulses from a "perfect"
contact generated by a 555 timer or other electronic source driving a
solid state relay or mercury wetted contact relay. Connect this to the
line through a 425B network with no ringer connected.

See what ranges of ratio and speed are recognized properly. If that
looks okay, add impairments in the form REN 1 to 5 to see if REN skews
the ratio and speed recognition ranges. If this all looks okay we will
figure out a way to simulate contact bounce.

The results must conform to a reasonable facsimile of the range shown in
BSPs. I will research these pass/fail speed and ratio requirements. We
don't need to know that now to characterize the ATA.
