I can't speak directly to FC6, but I know with the FC3 that I installed on 
my Asterisk machine I learned the hard way that I had to install 
"everything" because you could not get specific enough in the installation 
options/selections to get the right packages that Asterisk requires for 
compiling.  Only by installing "everything" was I able to have the right 
packages available for Asterisk.

The full FC3 install took about 8 GB and a couple of hours.  No complaints 
once it was installed, Asterisk compiled the first time.  I was just 
cutting it close on the old machine I was using as it has only a 10 GB HD.
