OK, things aren't quite as bad as I thought!! It would appear that it was
a timeout setting issue in the configuration file for the VT1005. The
sample config file that John supplied on this list had the dialing timeout
settings pretty low for rotary dialing. The values worked fine for DTMF,
but when you have to wait for the dial to spin back on higher digits, it
became an issue. I knew something had to be wrong when I was getting the
same errors with my Harris TS21 in rotary dial mode!
The two settings I changed were:
BTIOPT TeleSipCritialDialTimeout[0] = 4000
BTIOPT TeleSipCritialDialTimeout[1] = 4000
BTIOPT TeleSipPartialDialTimeout[0] = 4000
BTIOPT TeleSipPartialDialTimeout[1] = 4000
Not sure what the difference is between the "critical" timeout and the
"partial" timeout, but all I know is I changed those values to those shown
above and I can now dial all over the CNET* with the WE 500 w/#7 dial and
AE40 I initially attached to the VT1005.
*I can't dial our overseas members yet; still messing about with the dial
plan stuff in the VT1005 to make that work. I think two different entries
are "fighting" with each other since as soon as I dial the "01" of the
"011" I get reorder from the 1005.
It's progress, though, and looking pretty good at the moment.
Doug.
