While you are waiting, you may want to consider doing a new install with
CentOS 3,4, or even 5. RH 9 is OK, but very limited.
You also haven't yet mentioned the CPU speed and memory.
Another issue which MAY come up is the type of USB hardware. I seem to
remember that, if you don't have at least one FXO or FXS card, you will
need to compile Asterisk with ztdummy enabled, which requires a small
edit to the make file, that gives you a timing source needed for certain
applications within Asterisk.
