OK.   These values are indeed absolute quantities in
milliseconds - they're NOT relative nor percent etc.

However, I still want to know if you can listen to the
pulsing - it seems likely that you'll also experience
the erratic pulsing - in which case the monitor may be
trying its best to decode a bad pulse stream...
