For up to 4 ports, 2 each, they used to come in cheaper. It has been a

Beyond 4 ports, with the cheap T1 cards that have been available and
cheap channel banks, higher port counts come in cheap with T1.

Exactly
I bought a PIII MB advertised as PCI 2.2, and Linux couldn't see the
card, Digium's response was "try another motherboard"
I moved to the Sangoma and had no problems
Digium hardware in the past has been a problem, as has been their
support, sorry to say!
They were certainly given many chances. They stuck with that tigerjet
glue chip too long, IMO
