[VoIP] Off-Topic Ventrilo to Asterisk

Completely out there in left field, I was wondering if anyone knows if
there is a way to attach asterisk to a ventrilo server.
 
My son wants to be able to dial a DID that goes into asterisk, and have
asterisk open a channel into his ventrilo server.
 
It looks like ventrilo does some encrypting/decrypting, but I suspect
that the ventrilo protocol is similar to IAX2 or SIP or h.323.
