It really is simpler than using the Sangoma card
Simply use the Zaptel supplied on their site.
You may want to send an e-mail asking when they will put up an updated
tor-3 version, since there have been several updates to Zaptel in quick
succession
Last time I asked, they brought things up to date within a couple of days.
I also asked if there was a way to simply substitute certain files with
the Digium distribution, but never received an answer.
I am not even up to 13 yet - and the current numbering scheme and lack
of a "map" as to what version goes with what is really a pain. Somehow
Digium thinks they are doing something really smart, but personally I
would prefer that each version number match, even if some module hasn't
had any changes.
You may be able to get away with Zaptel 13 and Asterisk 16 also. Who knows?
