You might toast the IAXy, if its output devices aren't rated for 48 
volts, but all you're likely to get is your central office's howler tone 
after your IAXy holds the line off hook for a while without dialing.

By the way, make a point to remember the sound that your 
reverse-connected 2500 made. That little chirp of a tone at each 
keypress is characteristic of the 25 and 35 type dials when connected in 
reverse polarity.
