I remember reading of a (perhaps apocryphal) story of someone in the 
Pentagon negotiating with a contractor, and choosing an interesting way 
to demonstrate how reliable he wanted the contractor's hardware to be.

He picked up the 500 set on his desk, hurled against the wall with great 
force, and proceeded to make a call with it (and it worked perfectly).

Try *that* with one of today's phones!
