I have two SPA-200 units on two different Asterisk machines and they are
relatively easy to configure. Both have web-based management screens, that
I assume may work OK with your screen reading programs. I believe there's
a number of us on CNET who are either using or have used SPA-2000s so
there's plenty of help here to get one going.
It's been a while now since I configured mine, but as I recall what you
have to set in the Sipura configuration is your server address or name, the
user name and password for each line, and the dial plan for dial line, and
put the use name and p/w into your sip.conf file in Asterisk. Also, the
default ringer voltage and frequency setting is something like 50 volts at
25 Hz, that needs to be changed to 90V at 20 Hz to better ring older desk
sets like your newly-acquired 2500 set.
In short, they're not bad units to get FXS going on Asterisk. A VT1005 is
more attractive from the rotary dial support aspect, but they are bear to
configure, as David J. is currently experiencing. Note that the SPA-2000
does NOT support rotary dialing.

Of course the usual caveats for eBay apply. One of my 2000s came from a
VoIP equipment dealer, the other from eBay. No problems with either. I
haven't seen SPA-2000s for less than about $50 each, but I also haven't
actively shopped for one lately. There may be others on the list who would
be interested in buying an extra 2000 from you if you don't want/need all
three.
FWIW.
YMMV.
Doug.
