Yes, there can be permanent injunctions, and other such legal wrangling,
but the USPO is the final "yup, that's invalid"

Actions speak louder then words. When patents are granted for fairly
obvious methods and things well after they are in widespread use it is
indicative of major problems within the office. "Approve first ask
questions later" is a very good description of the process in its
current form.
