[VoIP] Need tools & docs to work on vt1005v on my asterisk.

Don,

If the firmware is in a socketed device you can take the device out of a 
non-V version, take the device out of the V version and copy the 
firmware from the non-V device into the V device using a suitable 
programmer.  It takes 10 minutes with the proper tools IF the device is 
socketed and the hardware is otherwise identical. 

I don't know whether it's worth the trouble or not.  That's an 
individual judgement.  What I do know is that people are spending time 
tossing the subject around and speculating about approaches that have 
already eaten up a lot of time and didn't seem to work.  I'm suggesting 
one that might be simpler and also successful.  Consider it all an 
academic exercise if you wish.
