[VoIP] Need tools & docs to work on vt1005v on my asterisk.

I think it is fair to say that manufacturers are way beyond simply changing a chip to make a "special" version of a product for one vendor. In fact, I bet a socket costs twice what a semiconductor device does. With the proliferation of information on the Internet about how to re-purpose a device, the techniques will get more and more sophisticated. Of course, the hacks for the i-phone demonstrate that it is possible, my point is simply that this isn't simple anymore.

There are no socketed devices in the VT1000.

I have not yet heard of anyone who has successfully unlocked their
VT1005v, which leads me to believe that the it's mask-programmed or
fuse-programmed. The "instructions" that Trixter published on his site
are speculative at best. The integration of Motorola as an internet
appliance vendor with Motorola as a semiconductor maker is fairly
significant, as it is with Motorola as a two-way radio maker.

The unlocked ones I bought from VOIP Supply work fine on touchtone and
DTMF sets, and have much better audio than the Sipura units.
