Agreed.  I had a LOA 4 ft shop light over my step switch (keeping this on 
topic!) and it failed after barely a year... granted it was the year I was 
doing the major construction of the switch so it was on a lot, but I have 
other 4 ft shop lights that are well over 20 yrs old and all I've replaced 
in them is the occasional lamp.
