Good info - though the phones I most often use for testing are in the office
which are tone.

FWIW, if you're on a Digium card FXS port, eleven pulses on a
rotary dial is equivalent to an *

(twelve pulses is a # --not sure if there are pulse equivalents
for the fourth column buttons)
