I neglected to mention that when it comes to multiple devices on the LAN via a NAT 
router, terminating VoIP connections using the same protocol you're typically going 
to have problems; IAX(2) or any other protocol is not totally immune in this scenario.  
A SIP device and an IAX device typically can coexist without any coexistance issues.
