[VoIP] AstLinux MySQL?

I hear things about how Asterisk can send call logs to a MySQL database. How would you set this up on AstLinux? I have another machine on my network running MySQL and would like AstLinux to write all call logs to this database, rather than the local CF card. Is this possible, or would it be incompatible? I have 10 Mb free space on the sys drive.
