Not really true. I have used a Sipura SPA-2000 with good results for
some time now.
The Motorola VT-1005 is also a good quality unit.
Both far exceed the sound quality of my local VeriZon line, noticeable
even with my advanced inner ear age.
My Cisco phones are quite nice and better, though the learning curve to
get one working can be a challenge.
