[VoIP] Cisco MC3810-V3 Question(S)

I'll try to get it in the mail Wednesday.
Getting a 3810 to work for CNET without the help of an asterisk box
would take a little work.
Part of the issue is SIP/RTP. The 3810 uses SIP for signalling and
RTP for the payload (audio). Getting SIP, RTP and consumer type
networks to all work with each other can be a pain in itself.
Commercial SIP providers like Vonage employ extra equipment in the
network to help eliminate some of these challanges.
Since not all of use will accept inbound SIP calls, you could be
limited to a smaller number of destinations that could accept your
calls.
The better thing would be to get you an Asterisk system. Even if(for
the most part) it only acts as a SIP-IAX2 gateway. For your needs, it
wouldn't take much. A P3/800 is (I think) the current minimum
reccomended hardware for the current version of asterisk, though I've
seen it run on a lot less.
Physical Space, Money and Time are probably the three biggest factors
for deciding what route to take.
Another posiblity is to have your 3810 communicate with just one other
system whcih does do IAX2 and have it tandem all the calls for you.
