HELP WANTED - No Pay involved. A labor of love for CNET
I have an incomplete project for a perspective CNET member who is
getting impatient with me because I have family matters taking up my
free time. Note the word "free"
The family issues may not lessen for some time, and the impatience with
me hasn't spurred me on to devote even a few minutes here and there lately.
All I intended to charge for was what I have tied up in the equipment,
so this has been a labor of love, a love of CNET. Many others that I
have helped have been patient and understanding, but this person isn't
quite that way.
The hardware assembled and partially ready is a common Linksys router,
an HP thin Client with AstLinux .4.8 installed, and a Cisco 3810 with 2
each FXO, FXS and E&M. The 3810 is presently equipped with the 120VAC
power supply, but the user wants a 48VDC one which I have. I chose to
leave the AC supply in place until the basic configuration is done.
The user has a wireless internet link similar to the one working at Phil
McCarters complex, a static IP that is known, and I have a dialplan of
sorts, not yet written into extensions.conf.
Anyone in the community willing to pick up the ball and finish this project?
AstLinux is using the late 1.2 version of Asterisk, has a https
interface as well as SSH access, the Cisco can be accessed via telnet,
and the Linksys router has remote administration, so once it is
connected, any configuration changes can be done remotely.
Let me know off list, or call me CNET 666-9900. I
f you will be at the Mason MI show I can bring the equipment.
Eventually please see that I recover my costs on the hardware.
The Potential CNET user probably is not capable of any more than cable
and basic hardware, and though no on-site work should be needed, is
located some 80 miles from St. Louis in a Westerly direction.
